Blogiversary and a Giveaway

Oh look, it's an anniversary! My little blog is turning four years old today! And as an interesting coincidence, I also noticed a couple of days ago that I had 199 published blog posts, so I decided to postpone my post about this year's Me Made May, making this also my 200th blog post. :)

To celebrate, I'm giving away four fabric bundles. :)
the blue bundle
the green bundle
The fabrics are all from my stash, and I sorted them (sort of, hehe) by colour scheme. Some fabrics are remnants from garments I made, sized like large-ish scraps. Some are full length pieces. Some I bought, some were gifted to me (mostly from the vintage fabric stash of my boyfriend's grandma). All of them are at least big enough to make a pillowcase or a kid-sized garment, and all bundles have at least one full-length piece.

To take part in the giveaway, please leave a comment on this blog post naming the bundle that you'd like to win and telling me which sewing pattern you're currently excited about. The giveaway ends on Sunday, May 11th at 11:59 local time (which is CE-DST, or MESZ, as we Germans say).

I guess I could write a very long blog post about the last four years, about learning to sew and growing as a seamstress, about all the inspirational and lovely sewing bloggers out there and how lovely it is to be part of that. But honestly, it's Sunday night after a beautiful but very full weekend, and I'm just a bit slow at putting my thoughts into acceptable English writing. ;) So just let me tell you 'thank you' for being such wonderful people, for coming over and reading and commenting, for the last four years, being part of this community.

(I have the feeling that I'm usually at least a tiny bit more eloquent but it really has been a long and exciting weekend. I think I'm going to bed early today...)

Anyway, hope you have a lovely week!

  1. I'd like to win any of those, but especially the white bundle! And as for patterns, anything that looks summery-- sundresses and maybe high waisted shorts especially. And Happy Blogiversary!

  2. Happy blogiversary, your blog is old enough to go to school :)

I'd like the red please and I'm excited about Sewaholic's Cambie dress, but somewhat stuck making Responsible Adult Trousers (Thurlows) so I have something to wear to work. And regretting not picking a downloadable trouser pattern because I hate wrestling pattern tissue paper and have access to a large format laser plotter.

  3. Happy Blogiversary Alessa! I have really enjoyed reading your posts for the last few years and our emails. :) What pattern am I excited about? Um... well, I am planning a remake of Sew Lisette Traveller dress in a much nicer quality fabric than my first effort. And I have two new patterns I am excited about: Simplicity 1652 and 1696, both bought in a recent sale. xx

  5. Happy bloggiversary!! I think is spelt that wrongly....I am excited about the Flora dress, wrap style if I am honest. I'm working on one now...and feel there may be a few more. Plus it makes the most gorgeous skirt too! Wowee.

I'm a sucker for a stash giveaway too....and they're all sooo interesting - I'd be very happy with any if them, but I need to choose ... the blue ....or green....;-)

  6. Alessa, happy anniversary. mine is coming up pretty soon too...which means I have 'known' you for that long. it's so nice! Time flies!! Thanks for the giveaway, but don't include me...I am doing the stash diet. Right now I am in between projects...considering what to do next and debating between a Burda dress and a wrap cardi using the polka dot knit fabric you sent me.

  7. Four years of blogging, that's really impressive! :) Thanks for the giveaway. I'd like to have the blue bundle. It occured to me that I've been sewing mostly with blue fabrics lately. That's interesting, because my favourite colour is green - maybe I look better in blue, which makes me subconciously choose it more often? Oh yeah, the pattern... Hard to pick. I think it's Image Wear dress 1001 (I'm in love with the bodice, but I'm thinking about changing the bottom of the skirt next time I'll be sewing this pattern). Still, it's a great summer dress!

  8. Congratulations of the blogiversary! I'd love to be entered for the blue bundle :) Right now I'm on my 3rd muslin of Butterick 5982. I'm still pretty excited about it even with the 3 tries, lol.

  9. Congratulation for your fourth blogiversary and thanks for such an amazing give-away! I would like to enter for the red bundle :) The black and red combinations will be great for autumn sewing. At the moment, I am working on the Colette Parfait Dress - my second version. It is such a lovely summer dress and I can't wait to wear it! I am looking forward to your Me Made May Post.

  14. Alles Gute zum Blog-Geburtstag :) Ich hab dein Blog erst vor Kurzem entdeckt (und erst vor wenigen Monaten mit dem Nähen angefangen) und es ist ermutigend, deine Erfahrungen zu verfolgen. At the moment I'm really excited but equally scared to get cracking with the Pastille dress from the Colette Sewing Handbook. I'd love the red bundle! Lieber Gruß von einer Exil-Deutschen ;)
